Yeah, absolutely. The bokeh isn't as good as my 31mm but the sharpness is right up there.

That's a real bargain. Everyone should have one of these... It's the Rolls Royce of body-cap lenses

Great for full length portraiture on APS-C...

I use mine for head and shoulders a lot also but you have to know your subject or be really good at being friendly. LOL. I stole mine for a bit less than this but it wasn't new. The HD version is supposedly even better than the SMC version.

It's allegedly better than 40XS optically, yes - though I imagine for most purposes the DA40XS is just as good, as I believe the optical formula is quite similar. But the all-metal build quality and fine finish of the HD DA40 Limited is streets ahead of the DA40XS's plastic build. All of the Limited lenses are really beautiful pieces of equipment.
