Fraudulent Memory Store

Reported by skydragoness, a yahoo store called "Flashmemory-store" is not to be trusted as it turned out to be fraudulent. Be sure not to buy your memory cards from them...

The VeriSign and Customer Satisfaction images are fake and not linked to their original sites.

More details about what happens with your orders can be found here: http://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/15371-post2.html

and from resellerratings.com about them I think: Flash Memory Store Customer Ratings, Reviews and Prices at ResellerRatings it seems that .23 out of 10 is the best they give them, lifetime overall was .73 out of 10. scams, bait and switch, yep, avoid at all costs.

bizrate.com/shopzilla.com is a sham as well

received this email about they original posting, it actually offended me, kinda shows how much they REALLY care... if only the RIAA had the same kind of love for napster 1.0...

Dear Shopper,

was reading on a forum about flash memory store .com (spaces on purpose, not on accident) on their site: Customer Comments - Flash-Memory-Store.com they list bizrate.com as 3 smiles, but on your site, they have no rating yet... on resellerratings.com, they are rated at .73 out of 10 overall. and as it lists, it is a avoid at all costs with bait and switch scam. I just thought I would just say you may want to check into their site.. could be a using graphic with no permission...

Haha, yea there's alot of "fake" brand name memory cards going around. There's a big premium on these brand name high speed cards.

Anyhow, buy that stuff from local dealers/store owners. The bigger the store chain the better. Crucial if you are into those high speed cards. You know its what you are paying for. As for computer warehouses/indep, those non brand name cards should be fine if you aren't looking for K10D constant 3fps. Just make sure there's some exchange policy incase you get a lemon.

The prices of the SD cards are getting so low now that i dont need to go in untrusty stores to buy them to save a quick buck
Compusmart sells a 2gb Kingston for 21.99. That is 600 pics on a k10d at 10meg Jpeg
Bestbuy sells them as double packs...2 sandisk 2gb cards for 42.99. So!!!! why should i try to buy them at 18.99 and get disappointed?

I just made a trip to Cleveland and was able to pick up some2GB PNY cards at Circuit City for $17 each. I bought one and tested it in the camera then bought two more. All three work fine. The same thing at Best Buy was $49!

Where'd you buy that Sandisk Ultra II from? Those're what I use, and I've never had a problem with them.

Only time I lost photos was when I washed them.

Kingston 4Gig SD Cards Taiwain Batch and K20D

Kingston had a batch of 4gig SDHC cards made in Taiwan they don't work with K20D's at least and of Dec. 2008 these are heavily discounted at Fry's.

They are legit and Kingston replaces them with 4gig SDHC cards made in Japan that do work with K20D's if you RMA them.

At least someone is upholding a reputation!

I have purchased several no name cards in the past and have had nothing but problems with them, especially write speed. Now if it doesn't say Extreem III and Sandisk on it I do not want it. If you follow web sites such as Fatwallet and Slickdeals these cards can be had anywhere from free after rebate to 10 bucks each.

I have a K110D an am thinking about upgrading to 4 gb (or more.) What is the maximum capacity for this camera? Any particular brands to avoid? I have a 2gb SanDisk SD that's been working fine. Thanks

2G is tops for the SD format, to go higher than that requires SDHC which is FAT32 IIRC compared to FAT16 of the 2G cards. My K100D needed a firmware upgrade to use SDHC cards, since the upgrade I've successfully used both 4G and 8G cards in it.
