New Flash

Since pentax just came out with two new cameras and a few new lenses, will we be seeing a new flash anytime soon? I have the 360 I am looking at upgrading, however I am not in any hurry at all. Should I wait and see.

nothing, I was just curious. I would feel kind of jipped if i bought it and two weeks later pentax announced a 580fgz or something

If they did, you shouldn't feel "gypped", because, hey, first of all the poor gypsies had nothing to do with it. But also, that's just the way of these things — there's always something newer. The value the AF540FGZ has now over any future model is it's available now, and if you need light, that's pretty compelling.

As I've said in about a million recent threads, a replacement for the AF360FGZ with a swivel head would be welcome — the competition all does it.

I would bad if I bought one only for a new one that is weather sealed and more reliable to come out.

I would love to have a weather sealed model like the new canon one that had a 5th batt for faster recycle and more advanced wireless like the Nikon one.
I find the 540 relative reliable already but like every meter-based thing it can always be improved.

I have kind of settled on the Sigma to tell you the truth. I wanted the 540 because I would eventually be able to afford the battery packs but what if they use different battery packs when they release a new flash system? My equipment has less resale value and I WILL be getting rid of it.

The sigmas cost less and allow me to get the same recycle rate as the Pentax flashes with a power pack if I use NiMH batteries.
