wireless flash using built in flash k200d

hi all

not that i expect it to be different on the k20d or the k10d, but when using the built in flash on the k200d to trigger the af540 wirelessly
is the built in flash meant to flash? and if so, does it have any effect on the slave? i'm talking about for macro photography where the two flashes will be near the subject mainly

any tips for a flash novice?

thanks
dave

Yes, the built in flash will flash. However, you can make it flash in two different modes, one where it only sends out the metering flash, and one where it sends out another flash while the shutter is open.
In [Custom Settings] menu, the last item before [reset] is [Flash in Wireless Mode]. When it is set to [2], the flash will only fire to determine exposure, and will not fire to take the photo. When set to [1] it will fire twice, once to determine exposure and a second time when it contributes to the exposure.

EDIT: On my K10D - I did not make myself clear, here.

The K200D can do that? Points for Pentax — they're doing a good job of addressing the complaint of artificially keeping features out of the lower-end model.

i've got it set to 2, so i guess it's just the pre-flash
