A few weeks ago I finally found a Promaster 2652 (aka PX) module for my Quantaray QTB-9500A (same as Promaster 5700) flash unit.
According to
Flash Systems Evolution, Features and Operation, Pentax skipped "auto" flashes and went to what they call "program" flashes, where the flash reports the current aperture setting to the body.
Well, I just ran an experiment with the Quantaray + Pentax module - When the flash is in Auto mode, and the body is in P mode, the body will automatically adjust its aperture appropriately depending on which of the three "A" settings you select on the flash, i.e. the Promaster 2652 is a "Program flash" compatible unit.
One less thing to worry about for those that like to shoot in "A" mode. It's too bad the Promaster only has full power and 1/16 power for manual mode, as the PM5700/QTB-9500 is an excellent unit - Cheap, built in secondary fill flash, tilt/swivel/zoom head, and interchangeable modules for use with multiple body types.
