285HV on-shoe with 2x viv2500 off shoe via V2s???

I finally decided what my GF is getting me for christmas. After going back and forth between a new vid card and a 70-300 tamron, I settled on a set of cactus V2s trigger and 2x receivers. Now I read somewhere that I can have a flash mounted on the shoe with the trigger connected via PC cord. So, how would this work on my k100d. 285 on the shoe, wireless trigger connected to the flash or camera body to trigger the 2 receivers mounted to TWO vivitar 2500 thyristors. The PC cord has me confused, the trigger is connected to the body of the k100 or does it go to the socket on the flash? Also where can I find a PC cable that works with the 285hv? Are all PC cords the same or do I need one specific to vivitar?

You're welcome.

Again my biggest concer is whether the trigger is connected via the flash or the pc cord to the body. My guess is flash?

One more thing - the K100D doesn't have a sync socket does it? I think you'll need something like this Multipurpose Hot Shoe Adapter as well.

And yeah, I'm thnking you'll attach the 285HV to the above adapter connected to the camera hot shoe. And then run the trigger off the PC port on the adapter

I thought there was no PC port, then I read things that made it seem like there was one, and now I guess there isn't...

I think you might be able to put your 285 on the hot shoe and then connect the PC cord from port on the 285 to the wireless trigger. If the PC port on the 285 is triggered at the same time as the flash then you should be able to use it to trigger other stuff but I've never needed to try that particular setup.

I found this to be a bit nicer than the standard cable and shoe adapter (especially when using the VP-1. Leaves the controls for the Vivitar at the camera plus has a port that will be triggered by or trigger a second flash (or in this case wirless trigger) using the cord listed in the previous post.

I ended up going with a promaster 7000m instead of the 285, so glad I did. It's has a wireless sensor in it so I don't even need it on the shoe. In case I want it there, I got a hot shoe adapter with a pc socket and it does indeed work with the transmitter just hanging there...
