Help with broken Af-360

Well my clumsy self just managed to knock my Af-360 off my desk. It fell with the wide angel diffuser out and as it hit, the diffuser shot off. Nothing appears to be broken, just that it popped out somewhat. I've been messing with it for the past 25mins trying everything I could think of to get it to the way it was before, but its just not cutting it

Anyone know how one would go about putting the diffuser back in and having it work correctly? I really would hate to have to send this out to Pentax for service for something like this.

Thanks guys. I can get pictures if that would help

There is a spring attached to the back of the diffuser. If the diffuser came off, the spring has likely taken a "walk" somewhere in your house. That spring is partly responsible for holding the panel in place. It flips it down as you pull it out and keeps it from going too far out.

I had a 540 do the same. The diffuser is connected to the flash with 2 very small plastic tabs/pins, one on each side. If yous still has both pins (I'd be suprised if they didn't break off) you'd have to open the top of the flash I think to get the panel back in. But there might be enough room to angle it back inside. Post a shot of the diffuser.

I just looked a little closer at the diffuser, and they did indeed break off . I didn't look close enough the first time. Thats the only reason I couldn't get it to work. I could get it to go in, pull out and flip down, but it wouldn't stay in. Now I know why. Thanks Peter.

Anyone know where I could get a replacement diffuser? or should I contact Pentax?

IMO save yourself the money and get a Sto-fen or similar diffuser. I think you'd have to send the flash into Pentax and it just wouldn't be worth the cost.
