Alzo Mini Softbox for Flashes

Has anyone tried this product:

ALZO digital Porta Flash Softbox

I have some vivitar 285 (which they seem to show in the sample pictures connected to the softbox) and I was wondering if this softbox is worth the money, considering I have 33" and 45" umbrellas...

Thanks in advance!

I have one and use it from time to time. I'm moving onto studio strobes, but the Alzo (along with the umbrellas) make for a nice portable Strobist kit that you can take almost anywhere.

Check the Strobist group here for some pics of a typical setup:

Hi Alan,

Thanks for the reply. It seems like the small softbox does work a bit better than a big umbrella. And it seems like it is better suitable for windy outside conditions. '

I am about to place an order for it.

On the other note, I had no idea we had a strobist group in the house. It does not look like a typical forum layout though.... is that the way it works?

Later man!
