Pentax AF360fgz flash and Radio Remote Transmitters

Hi all, I have a remote radio flash transmitter and two receivers. They work fine on K20D (Fw1.03) with Sigma EF 500DG Super and Pentax AF280T flashes but not on the 360fgz. I've had the 360fgz work on one occasion but can't repeat it and even then I had to wind the sync speed down to 1/30s.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

David

I have the same issues with the 360.
Depending on what triggers you are using, the sync voltage of the 360 could be the issue.
With the cheaper Chinese triggers it seems the low sync voltage of the 360 and 540, <4v, prevents them from syncing faster. I modded my CTR-301's and they still only work up to 1/30th, like you are saying.
My shooting partner has some Paul Buff Cybersyncs and they work to 1/180.
Till I get some more expensive triggers, I have been using the 360 in slave mode, triggered off my other flashes and it works fine that way.

I have been using Flashwave 2 and have not had a problem with them up to 1/180 on both my 360 and 540 flashes. The only time I have to go down to 1/30 is if I use them as a repeater mode. Just one more data point for you.

I have not personally experienced this but I remember reading about AF 360 FGZs going to sleep, or timing out, on idle and therefore, not responding. I'd rule that out first.

Wireless master seems to work. The wireless setting sets the timeout to one hour, and the master means it can still be fired by the hotshoe.

Thank you

Thanks for your responses guys. My radio heads are RF-04 and PT-04 made in China and sourced in Australia. I can work around the 360fgz with slave mode and the other flashes on wireless.

Take Care,

David
