Pentax Remote F

Apologies if this has been asked alot, I looked over the last few pages and couldn't find anything.

The remote looks very basic. Is it simply push button to take photo?, in Bulb, hold button to take photo, release button to stop exposure? Is there a way to start exposure, leave, then return and stop exposure?

Many Thanks, Oliver.

Yes.

Note that the remote uses IR to communicate with the camera. I don't know what happens if the communication is disrupted during B exposure.

Yes, and there is an option in the menu to activate autofocus as well.

Supposedly, with the new K7, you can click once to start the exposure, then again to stop. This is just a rumor, though.

Twin II remote

I got a “Twin II” remote from Cameta Camera when I ordered my K20D kit. It was $31. It is a universal that works wit Pentax, Canon, and Nikon. It is wireless and wired. Has a switch for bulb setting and auto focus with half button push. They say it is rated up to 60ft. I haven’t tested that much distance yet. I’ve only tested to around 25ft. I’m very happy with it so far.

It's from John Carlson, Product Manager for Imaging Systems at Pentax USA, so it's a pretty well-sourced rumor.

Cool, didn't know where it came from. That's definitely a great addition, one that doesn't stand out in the spec list, but is really useful.
