K-7 Battery grip

I was looking for pictures of the K-7's battery grip and noticed some extra holes in it.

If you look, it appears to have two indents similar to the one on the dbg-2 (K20/K10 battery grip) that holds the rubber door covering the battery grip contacts. What do you think the second one is for?

It looks very much like the Nikon En-el3e. The Pentax battery tray is just a cart for the battery to lay in, and looks like it does not have specifice areas where the battery must be slid into to work.

If the Nikon En-el3e battery will work we have lots of third party parties to buy from !!

If you're referring to the indents on the "top" of the grip (the face that goes against the body) then they are there to hold both the cover on the body's contacts as well as the cover for the contacts on the grip itself. I have the grip for the K20D and always thought that, though it was great to have a convenient place to store one cover, it seemed "half baked" to not have another to keep the cover for the grip's contacts (the white cover).

It's such a nice touch, I'd always have to keep that cap somewhere safe because I'm sure I'd lose it
