keeping a 530 DG super awake?!?!?!?

I'm using a 530 dg super flash with cactus V4s. I use everything on manual. I am shooting badgers and i am waiting maybe 1 hour, 2 sometimes. The flash is always turning itself off every 2 minutes!!!
I cant keep trigerring them, the badgers are not liking it, and if it turn itself off and the badger is having a look around, i can not stand up and go to the flash and turn it on!! I sit there and cry because my flash just give up on me.
What can i do?

In slave mode the flash is triggering itself!!! Two flashes every time!! In P-TTl slave mode i cant make it dark. Can i open it up and take out the bit that makes it sleep?

P.s. cactus V4s are great.

Switch to a Pentax or Metz flash.

Or really, since you're using it in all-manual mode anyway, some other cheap flash with good output and no auto-off feature. (Sorry, no specific recommendation.)

I'd be shocked if it's done with a distinct part rather than as a feature of some integrated circuit.

Thanks. Ill try slave modes and such, different arrangements of flashes maybe.

Now i am saving up for an LP120

i've got a 500super but haven't used it the way you are.. i'll try it out..

ONE thing is definitely of interest here to me..
i'd love to see the finished series
