Pentax D-BG2 Problems

So I've had this grip for a couple weeks and love having the extra juice, but I'm worried because its slowly beginning to malfunction. First it was the preview button (optical preview/live view switch), then the front e-dial stopped working, and now my camera won't focus with a half press of the shutter button.

Anyone else have this problem? Also do you know about how much it would cost for a repair (its still within warranty, but since I bought it second hand, I don't have the original receipt)?

check the contacts on both the grip and the body to see if they are covered by dirt or what not but a check up I would probably resort to.

Good luck.

Thats what I suspected too, but just looking at both the camera and grip contacts, I can't see anything that would be causing a problem. What would be the best way to clean the contacts?

eDials need to be solidly in detents.

It might simply be that you have one of the e-dials between the detents. It is really easy to get one hung up, and it royally fouls up the whole camera.

Albert,
Is there a way to fix this? Even if I can, I get the feeling I would still need to send it in because the preview switch doesnt work and it wont AF with a half press of the shutter.

Sorry for the delay - I was off line.

I did not explain myself as well as I should have. Make sure that all four e-dials are in the detent position. If one of them is between the positions, strange things happen. First make sure that all the e-dials are in the detents, and if it still acts up, it is time for warranty.
