AF400FTZ bits left over

You know the situation, you have taken something apart, then you put it back together again, and there are some bits left over.

I was using my AF400FTZ and after a while I found that the vertical tilt had gone limp and one of the round covers of the 'hinge' was wobbly, so I wanted to fix that. I also noticed that there was a rattle and thought it was associated (I now think that it was not related). I got the flash open and found a small screw and a plastic "pin" was the cause of the rattle.

After some more investigations I discovered that the round cover has a plastic cover stuck on, and after prising that off I found two screws. In my case one was partially unscrewed hence the wobble. When I removed the screws I could see the detent mechanism inside - a small plastic detent pin and a spring, and I could reassemble the mechanism to get the tilt click working.

But I could not find a place for the other two bits. The plastic "pin" is about 4mm long, 1 mm in diameter and the "head" is about 2mm. The screw is a really tiny short screw. I have them safe and marked so I can replace them if needs be, but the flash seems to work fine without them.

Has anyone else opened up a AF400FTZ, and if so, do you know what these bits are for?
