Deb, in my previous post I asked the question of whether you were attempting to shoot wirelessly with a K100D using the popup flash as the control.

If this is the case, you'll find that the K100D is not capable of this wireless function as is. You would need another P-TTL flash unit (like another 360) to act as the controller, or get a hotshoe adaptor to have your flash off-camera (but not wireless) or you would need to upgrade your body to a K10D, K200D or any other newer camera.

That's good info to have Ash, but she's not using a K100D.

That's right - not a K100 user..... I've got a K200.

Using it in P-TTL ON camera with no problems.

I dropped it off at my local Henry's today. They're going to put it through the paces and let me know what's up! They are going above and beyond regular customer service because a] I bought it used b] I did not buy from Henry's!

I gathered that detail from your profile Panache as I didn't see you mention the camera you used otherwise in the previous posts.

Oh well, scratch that as a problem...

Good stuff.
Please let us know how it goes.
I'm intrigued at how this issue has arisen...

Henry's was great. They put the flash through some testing and all is working as it should. I guess I have to read the manual again and again. Apparently, the problem was with the camera setting: Custom Menu: 16. Flash in Wireless Mode. It should be on option 2 - Off.

I'll do some more testing in the next while and see how things work.

Thanks everyone for the help!

Glad you got it sorted out, but the information that the shop gave you about the in camera flash settings sounds familiar.

If you really want to be able to see as much discernable difference between the flash power output at the various manual levels (1/1, 1/2, etc), then you want the built in flash to only act as a controller. Per the K200D manual, go to the custom setting menu #16, and select option 2 (off).
