Too Good To Be True?

I just purchased this package deal off Ebay, thought it was quite the bargain (if seller is honest) I'm trying to decide whether of not to resell it for a higher price as I have issues with scarred shoulders from a fire I was in and I'm worried the weight of the K100D and/or lenses my give me pain on them,I'm used to lighter weight Fuji bridge cams... what should I do? Keep or Sell?

Thanks
Barry

What sort of package deal did you get ? Can you post the link to the closed auction?
With regard to the comfort, it's such a personal thing that I would recommend that you try carrying the setup around for an outing and see how it affects you.
I have the K10, and the stock Pentax strap digs into my neck, so I'm now in the market for a more comfortable strap.

Good Luck,
Steve

not sure 525 is "too good to be true"...the k100 used seems to be going around 300, a nice k1000 maybe 100, and the mix of lenses, etc could maybe make its way up to the 525 mark. It's a nice package, no doubt, but I'm not sure it's underpriced at that...you might be able to get a little more, assuming you could find buyers. I don't know the details of your shoulder issue, but the k100d is not that heavy a camera assuming it doesn't have huge lenses attached

I would tend to agree. In fact, the sell price looks a few percent high IMO (not that I am a pricing guru).

I agree it's a good deal not so much a steal - also confused on the shoulder injury is it the shoulder bag you are concerned with? The camera hanging with the neck strap? For the latter I think you can get hand grips for the K100D (not sure on the K1000) and for the camera bags that as so many options other than a shoulder case (everything formal belt attachments , hand carry ons with rollers and a handle) you should be fine there.

Also showing your purchase price to potential client may be an issue You may make a few sheckles on it , however it is only worth what someone else is willing to pay. Good luck !

Thanks Everyone

Maybe I'm dreaming about the price I can get for it but on Ebay, if someone would pay $28.000 for a grilled cheese sandwich with the likeness of the Virgin Mary, you never know ..LOL. I really want to use the K100d as even though the Fuji has good color rendition, the Pentax cams seem to have less noise at higher ISOs

I think you'll be very happy with the K100D, I love mine. If you enjoy it, price is irrelevant, right?

I better like it, I've already uploaded my K100d sig pic It's my shoulders that I'm worried about, is the shake reduction really that good?

there are straps that take the weight off the normal 1-1.25 inch space that the original straps provide... i used one for quite sometime and I liked it, the only reason i went back to my original strap was because im scared the snaps wont hold a 2-3 pound lens... but the straps are definitely worth it... check them out

. . . wrong forum. . . should be in general discussion, not the marketplace.

I purchased one of these straps, and they are fantastic. They distribute the weight very well, it's like night and day from the strap that comes with the camera.

Isn't Ebay part of the "marketplace" ?

I think what jlp was trying to say was that marketplace is for posting for FS, FT, WTB and FA ads. Your question is whether you should sell your package or not. This is clearly agaist the rules of this particular forum (marketplace).

Not trying to be an a**. Just explaining.

Have a nice evening.
