Interesting read for beginners

I hope that this page hasn't been posted yet, but it looked like a pretty interesting read for the beginning photographers.
http://www.schewephoto.com/workshop/...w/Raw-Deal.pdf
It's 84 pages so it might take a while to load on dial up.

don't want to knock the wind out of your sails, but...

Did you read the bit about linking to Jeff's PDFs? (cut the URL you gave to .com/workshop/)

Regardless, there are better reads out there. This is a powerpoint lecture, ...without the lecture. Most true beginners would probably need and want the audio that accompanies the visual.

It is a good read.

It clarifies a few things for me in there. I love powerpoint format as I have done my presentation with slides a lot at work.

Though a few technological explanation of how digital images are recorded, I got a better impression with the fundamentals regarding Digicam

Do you know who Jeff Schewe is? Did you get permission for the link into his stuff-it's not usually given for use in forums. Did you take the workshop?

So many questions; answers, seriously needed!

From his site:
"The following PDF downloads are made available for students and workshop attendees for their own personal educational use only. The general public is welcome to download and read the PDF's, however, no permission is granted to link to the PDF's."

Kind of weird, you can download them but not link to them, but hey, it's his intellectual property, he can make his own rules. I'd suggest you link to his home page only, anyone interested can find their way to the pdfs.

He's just a bit stingy with his bandwidth. Forum posts bring a lot of hit-n-run type visits, and I think he'd prefer only paying for those genuinely interested in the information.
