Overloaded Bee

I am out this morning trying to get some macro shots of the azalea flowers in the front yard and having a terrible time because of the breeze. Meanwhile, there are several bees going from flower to flower soaking up the nectar. So I figure I may be able to get a shot or two of the bees. I am chasing down this particular bee which keeps moving every time I get close to focusing. After a couple of shots the bee does a drunken backflip onto the ground. I stopped what I was doing and was trying to convince myself I had no part in this bees demise while it's laying on its side in the grass. Turns out I believe it was just so loaded with pollen that it could no longer carry the weight. It laid there for a minute or so and finally flew off much to my relief. Had visions of this freaked out bee minding its own business when suddenly it spots this humongous piece of glass approaching and faints! Sorry for the strange story but I am sure glad nobody was watching me.

I saw a segment on 60 minutes a few weeks ago that talked about all the bees disappearing. You aren't hiding them on us are you?

Perhaps it got a BUI? ..buzzing under the influence?
