If you read the whole report I posted in the couple posts, you will see they DID test FA*28-70/2.8 and FA*85/1.4. They did not test the 80-200/2.8 however.
Sorry, that must have been the *only* post that I missed of yours!
I can check back the 77 Limited and see exactly their gripes about it. I think it was a bit soft wide open. I will check.
A bit soft wide open at the borders no doubt. Also, one could complain of (some) CA as one can with all the fast limiteds. I see it, but as a photographer know how to avoid it, or can easily compensate in post. Not enough to knock it down a full point. Or is there a better lens at this speed?
Thanks a lot for these summaries thibs. Could you also provide a detailed summary of the pros and cons of the DA* 50-135 and DA* 16-50 lenses? Or did the centering defects prevent them from giving those lenses a fair rating?
Thanks for posting thibs. I hope they upgrade DA21 and DA14 after DA 18-55 II, particular DA21 as it is a Limited and only a f3,2, it shuld have exelent sharpness at full aparture. Then i buy DA21/3,2 II.
it shows Pentax as a f****ing good optical manufacturer... at least !
I don't know when pentax's optics designing/manufacturing has come into question. the asahi optical co. has been in this game since before WWII. people can say what they want about cameras during the late 80's to late 90's but pentax optics have always been on par with the best of the best.

I hope they upgrade the da21 too. Over here it is the most expensive of the limiteds but it is slower and scores lower in lens tests.
In this case these tests do not fuel my LBA. The DA21 is the only one i have been lusting after recently.
