If you dont like judges, take up swimming. Its all timed

Having said that, i recently submitted 7 images, six i really like, one i just tossed in there.

The six i really like got rejected, the one i tossed in there was accepted.

No different than the photo contest i enter at the local fall fair, Grandfather Mountain photo contest, etc. Judges are just that, they evaluate the shot, some will like it and some won't.

I live with it.

heh.. somehow I managed to get one in the Premiere gallery, and I certainly don't know anyone.

That said, I think the last 30 pics I submitted were all rejected. *shrug*
I figure they have so many pics already that they're being ultra-picky about what they accept.

Here's a question (maybe a dumb one but what the heck!). Has anyone ever tried to submit a rejected photo a second time?

Not myself, but i do know some one that did. He changed the title and it was accepted the second go round.

That's good to know because I re-submitted a few recently...

NOT AT ALL!

Looking at the rejects, and going through the voting process, I can understand pretty much why they were rejected (one of them more in principle rather than quality if anyone but me understands what I mean by that).

I have done some small-time jobs for money and I have sold a few prints, but I still got a bit of a tickle when my first image was deemed worthy by my fellows to show in this gallery. It meant other people liked it too, and not because they were just being nice.

I think the peer voting sample that is taken before they kick it out is large enough to eliminate any randomness or having-a-bad-day-ness in the voting. For a small fry nameless nobody like myself, it's quite a charge to my personal ego to be in the same gallery with the likes of Benjamin Kanarek (and my sincere apologies if my presence causes any drop in your status).

Just my own thoughts.

I am very pleased for you...Bravo and Well Done. My motivation had more to do with "curiosity" than getting in to the Gallery. Very illuminating to say the least. Interesting to see how different folks in different area's see ones work. None the less, I am not at all concerned by the company I am keeping in the Gallery. It is an honor to be with others that have an incredible amount of talent and truly deserve the recognition.

Best Wishes

I had to work hard to get my pictures in, got 22 now and one in the premiere collection as off today.

But iff they would all have been rejected I would not dare to question the judges, I think it just is not done. If you don't like the rules, don't play the game. Judging pictures is very subjective. The system were users rule out the majority before it gets to a proffesional Jury is hard and sometimes it seems unlogical but its life.
