Warranty card K200D - Amazon

I did not receive a warranty card with the purchase of a K200D kit either for the camera or the lens. As I was checking through the manual, on page 216 it makes reference to checking the warranty card to confirm the warranty in your country. There is a serial card (which specifically says it is not a warranty card), and from the edge of the card, it appears something has been stripped from it.

I assumed that a purchase from Amazon would include a US warranty. However, when I emailed Amazon I got a form letter saying that "Many of the items listed on our website are covered by a manufacturer's warranty.", but nothing about my purchase, and giving me a Pentax address (to write for service?). Did anyone else who purchased a Pentax camera (or lens) in the US recently receive a warranty card, USA or otherwise. I understand there is an international warranty you can request a card for, but believe that is something different.

Thanks.

Are you sure it came from from Amazon? A lot of the stuff they sell on their site actually comes from 3rd party vendors like Adorama. Check your reciept.

It is an Amazon receipt, and the web site I ordered from listed it as an Amazon item.. I was aware they sell for other vendors. In fact, I could have gotten it a little cheaper that way, or buying directly from some other vendors, but thought Amazon was a safe way to go.

I purchased one from Amazon a couple of weeks ago and it did not come wait a warranty card either. The shipping box had the Amazon logo on it and the receipt came from Amazon. All appeared to have the original seals intact. I registered the camera on Pentax web site with no problems.

If you got a card with the serial number on it, then that's all you'll get. You can register your camera online at Pentaxslr.com. That's how I've done every piece of Pentax gear I've purchased. You have nothing to worry about as long as you have a receipt.

Some shops keep the card, and take care of filling it in for you, so that might be what happened

warranty card they are referring to is just a printed list of authorized repair centers, that's it... and you do not really need to register your camera online - it is only used by Pentax to collect data for "marketing" purposes.

Hi LSC,
As rfortson and deejjjaaaa mentioned, there's no warranty card.
I used Pentax repair service a few weeks ago: you just fill out their repair form and include a copy of the sales receipt. Hope you won't need it.

Thanks for the responses. I will quit being concerned about the card and just worry about learning how to take better pictures.
