Repair Rush Order Time Not Met ?

Sent my Pentax K10 in for repair of Auto Focus motor . Enclosed my $25.00 check for rush order. Rush order they acknowledge is a 5 business day turn around. They state receiving it on September 10; it's now Sept. 20. Web log in shows it still " in process." I call today . Guy said he'll moved it on up to his supervisor.
No matter how fast they get it repaired, still got the shipping time.
I've missed business . Only have a Canon point & shoot for back up. Family occasion s. And , now, will miss a few more.
Any thoughts ? Past experiences ?

Pentax repair, at least for me, is amazingly slow. My camera has been in surgery since August 21, with no real progress. I sent it to a local camera repair shop and then they sent it to Pentax. I don't know anything else really.

I had a small AF problem that I thought was a routine procedure. I could still use the camera as usual regardless. I needed my K10D to shoot a Saturday wedding but that was August 30.

Yep, It's Sept. 22.

1. ) Sorry, yes it is now September 22.

2. ) I need my K 10 to make enough money for a back up camera.

3. ) but I even paid the money for rush service and sent it directly to Pentax imaging repair service in Colorado. Its' repair status has been up on the tracking site for more than a week now. "In Process"

4.) don't you think they should just give me a brand new K 20 to make nice ?

Pentax shouldn't really say 5 days turn around time, unless they know they can meet it.
However unless you know exactly what they're doing to repair it, and confirmed that they have all the parts in stock you really shouldn't bank on having it back by a certain date.
That's just one of the reasons why paid shooters really should have a backup or even 2 or 3.

There's a good chance that you can get an in-expensive film camera, just to get you by for now.
