Stepped into a dark side (for one day only) - Part 2

Follow up to this thread:

So Wednesday, I have picked up the B&W prints from local pharmacy. All pictures came out good but I have thrown out a few due to bad composition. Today I had a chance to scan them and converted some of them to sepia using simple filter in Photo.NET as I do not have anything fancier here at work. Including looking at the prints I had a really fun time with film camera. I am not switching back though. The whole process and price is just not worth it. I may adjust how many pictures I take with my DSLR though. It is a lot better to scan thru 20-30 pictures than thru 100.

Here are the results:

Nice photos - next time, have them do 'CD Only' - it is much cheaper, you miss two more layers of transformation (scan -> print -> scan again), and you also save your time.

its actually not sod bad, if you just get the negatives developed, and then scan them yourself. much cheaper. much more labor intensive, but that's part of the fun for me.

I do not know if my CVS does CD only but indeed that would be better than prints. Mostly because of the cost and the fact that I do not own a film scanner. I paid something like $15 total ($5 film + $10 prints).

Anyway, it was fun. Kinda like playing battle ships game on a piece of paper in the age of Playstations.
