Congrats!
Where can I get the "The Photographer's Mail" from? Here it says it is available free of charge but I don't know where from. Does it come with D-Photo? However, there should be an online version too, no?

I got it free from my friendly local photo shop counter until...
I got a 2 year sub for my birthday
I did have a laugh how they had my photo on one page, and the facing page had two of the late Willy Ronis' photos - only one of the best street photographers ever.

usually on the counter of photo shops. I too have a sub.
I just had a look in the Photographers Mail. Congrats Cwyatt. Great job.
On Friday we had the Coastal Classic yacht race from Auckland to Russell and I went out on a RIB to take some photos to be used in advertising. The rough waves made life hard and it is not easy to compose the shots when you are bouncing around.
However I managed thanks to the K20D and image stabiliser to get a few good photos. If anyone is interested you can find a selection on Flickr.
So, oh Classy One, how did the Get a Grip go? Pictures to share yet?
In a way it was a failure since they actually didn't sell any (battery) grips.
Apart from that, it was really great!
The early morning field trip made be get up 5.00am in the morning, something unheard of from me, but it was worthwhile. Didn't quite get the spectacular light I was hoping for, but still got some shots (around the Mana boatsheds) I wouldn't have otherwise.
The workshop was great as it was a "Trash the Dress" model shoot. I'm still editing the images but will post some a.s.a.p.
My second outing was supposed to be all about the Staglands Wildlife reserve but alas two models came along so I stuck with them and practise my portrait shooting. I thought the flowers and other wildlife are not going anywhere but the models won't be there next time I am. Glad I focused on the right kind of birds.
The Saturday ended with a nice dinner and very good entertainment. They had improvisers playing a detective piece involving all the guests. They were very, very funny.
BTW, for all you weekday challenged WPS (the society not the supplies) candidates: Coming year the regular meetings will be on Thursdays, not on Tuesdays anymore.
