There's LBA and then there's LBA. This can only go to one person. There are some contenders but but they are just playing compared to this guy. I'll assume that he will win every year without much challenge.

Gary, you'll have to close this thread at some point and create a more organized thread with the nominated people in a list.
Peter (and everyone else) I have created the list in the thread starter post. Please inform me if I miss any guys.
Now you're turning all forum activity into a competition. Could be a good thing, could be a bad. We'll wait and see.
Dan, your being a bit cynical there. The whole point of this is to recognise the good guys and have a bit of fun as well. I don't see any competition entering into it.
Wow cool idea - like my avatar eh ... I hate pictures of myself and these are are the only types I can tollerate (I think I was happy with a photo of me in Grade 9 )
I would agree with
Wildlife photographer of the Year - Marc Langille
Most Improved Bird Shooter - Borno nominated
Most Helpful Member - Peter Zack nominated, 1st approval
I also nominate the Damn Britt as the most likely to be #1 poster in 2009 (he sets a torid pace)
I nonimate stu (Little Laker) in the "where is he now" catagory ... or maybe I missed a critical post or two ...
James (roentarre) - #1 Poster !!!
Heinrich - most replies catagory (he replies to eveyone individually without fail)
We could do catagotries Landscape, Models, Macros,Flowers ...
Wow it could go on forever :-)
Dave, I haven't include your 'Most Likely' category as this Honours List is intended to be retrospective for 2008. I know I'm probably top poster for this year but James has the crown for most posts. I don't think this award requires any extra approval so I shall confirm it.
That's a tough one. I agree that Mike is deserving but Jay (jsherman999) has also posted some great stuff and test shots with his Taks as well. I bought 2 because of him and Mike. I'm not sure who I'd nominate.
Wow, just stumbled in here and now I see my name in some of these. Anyone want to buy a lens? Kidding.
I second Mike Cash for "Super Tak advice hero", and would like to withdraw my nomination for that one - Mike inspires me, he's Mr Tak as far as I'm concerned.
I am not sure what to call the category, Maybe "Water into Wine" or "Lemons to Lemonade" or "Silk Purse to Sows Ear'
But you all know what I am talking about... This would be the person who continues to take the crappiest lenses and post shots with them that make most of us realize that we have not the 'eye' nor the skill. And that spending tons of money on lenses is not the answer...
Maybe it should be the 'LBA Killer award'...
Whatever we call it, I nominate Jay (jsherman999)
His work with the Sandpapered, fungus filled SMC Tak 50, and then the follow up "My Lake Dunked Tammy 70-200" series, has completely ruined my self esteem and sent me back to my P&S camera with my tail tucked firmly between my legs.
That SMC Tak 50 was so filled with gunky fungus, that light barely could penetrate it.... and yet the photos looked better than any I have taken with my best glass!
And I think he may have dropped that 70-200 in the lake on purpose just to drive the final nail in my LBA coffin.
I have not bought another lens since the 'Lake Dunked' series and I may never!
I have though, sat naked in my bathtub, soaking my lenses and scratching up the front and rear elements on the Hot/Cold handles, just to try and get results like Jay.
Ironically or stalker-like... the last lens I did buy (Helios 44M) was from Jay.
So Gary, you get my drift here, I will let you name the category, but I want to personally hand out the award at the Banquet...
With nothing but Love in my heart, I nominate Jay for this yet un-title award
Kind words, Gus, thanks. Lemons --> lemonade. Good way to go through life in general.
(Oh, and by the way - I secretly infected that Helios I sold you with fungus, which is why you're getting those incredible shots with it. You're welcome.)

That's very noble of you Jay, I'm sure you'll be honoured in another category.

I stand corrected! Sorry Hinman, you've been out done. jamesk8752 is the KING.
I agree with the confirmed ones, as for the nominated:
give my vote to Hinman for LBA king, Heinrich Lohman for the replies and Daacon for avatars.
Oh and of course Little laker... shame we don't see him around anymore....
