Old Pentax Brochures and Ads

Hi, I'd just like to add if you guys know where I could copy old Pentax film camera brochures and ads. I tried searching the term brochure in these forums, but came up with only a few threads.

For nostalgia nuts like me, maybe we can pool together links to old brochures and ads? Here's a good site I've found: www.mcfaddenphoto.com.

I hope you guys can chip in with your own links and scans.

Hi,

Actually I have two of them, both in very good shape:

1) Pentax 35mm SLR lenses (I wanted the ones with the FA* series in it)

The first brochure also has a chart listing the lens type, it's full name, lens construction, FOV, MFD, Max. Magnification, Max. Diameter and Length, weight (metric/imperial), and filter size.

2) Pentax Cameras:
  • SLR
  • Compact
  • Medium Format

On the second brochure, it shows Steve Irwin (aka "Crocodile Hunter") holding a compact while handing from a tree branch, as one of the 3 crs is pulling at his sock...

Pentax Brochures and ads are frequently available on ebay if you want the real deal.

http://shop.ebay.com/items/?_nkw=pentax+%2B(ad%2C+brochure%2C+catalog)&_sacat =0&_fromfsb=&_trksid=m270.l1313&_odkw=pentax+%2B(a d%2C+advertisement)&_osacat=0

There's a "Crocodile Hunter" 1999 ad in there today, but not the one Marc has.

Oops - did I offend?

The brochure at the back even includes the notable moments in Pentax history, up to the inclusion of the MZ-S in 2001. I am guessing the brochure was printed in 2001/2002, since it's also got the 654N II unit showcased? I know the 645N was released in 1997, IIRC, but not the 3rd generation for the MF camera.

Hi, thanks for the replies, guys. I'm not looking to buy old brochures, just collect scans of them (JPGs, PDFs, etc.). I just enjoy reading those and feeling nostalgia. I might be tempted to buy those someday, but not in the short term. I haven't even gotten a lot of focal lengths covered yet.

Marc, any chance you have scans of those brochures you have? Yours sounds interesting.

Vinzer,
I'm spending Christmas in my ancestral home and after rummaging through old stuff, I found a few vintage LIFE and photography magazines from the 1968-1970. Lots of ads for the Spotmatic, K-series stuff, plus Minolta, Olympus, etc. I'll bring them back to Manila, scan, and post them here.
Cheers!
