Oh yes! They (at leats I...) would!

I have been watching these twisted individual for several years. As a matter of fact, I have an m42 to EOS adapter and an original Tamron Adaptall 2 EOS-M mount.

Do screwmount Takumars with an EOS adapter work on Canon Full Frame bodies?

They do on film bodies such as the A2 and 10s. I have never tried them on canon digital aps-c or ff.

there are some mirror clearance issues with some lenses, for which some people choose to 'shave' the mirror. otherwise, yes they do work.

On the 5D (not sure about the Mark II, but at least on the original) the mirror is larger than on the other bodies from what I gather, and sometimes the camera has to be modified to handle certain Takumar lenses that have protruding rear sections.

The 1Ds II I have appears to have fewer clearance issues. While I haven't put any Pentax glass on it yet I am using a Tele-Lentar 135/2.8, a Jupiter-9 and a Zuiko 50/1.8 on it currently.
