This is why I love Pentax: the little things thread

When the K20D came out, I started the thread Pentax really listens! Thanks!. The summary: in addition to the big improvements (expected and not expected), the K20D made a lot of small (some almost trivial) improvements to the K10D which addressed many forum complaints (both common and apparently rare). In that case, I highlighted the fine-edge-sharpening option, lower jpeg compression, and customizeable filename prefixes — and then others added on. The result is a quite-impressive list.

So, this time around, check out this complaint) of mine, and now look at page 198 of the K-7 manual, which says:

You can copy the white balance setting of a captured image and save it as Manual White Balance.

Thanks, Pentax!

What else do you all have along these lines?

I'm sure I posted to a "What would you like to see in the next model" thread about saving white balance settings, nice to see it come to fruition! It's the main frustration of the K100, getting white balance correct and switching to different lighting only to go back and not nail the while balance again.

Great thread.

I for one am thankful that they have built a model most suited for my limited lenses. I just got my 15mm ltd yesterday, and my line up is complete, except that I need a k-7 now. I am leaving for Japan tomorrow where I will be buying my K-7!!

This is Ultimate CBA !
Taking the plane to Japan. exposing the risks, eating with chopstiks, just for a Camera.
There is another stage though: Convincing your wife an kids your life has no meaning , and for cure you should all move to Japan in the former Pentax museum.

I like the fact that the K20D puts your images in a folder per day, makes sorting so much easier (you know, now that I think of it , that is, besides the sealing the main reason why I prefer to use the K20D over the K100D.

The file even had the date in it ,for example 100_0110 which mean file no 100 shot on the first of october.
But what I would like to see is customizable folder names, so that you can also include the year ( I store my folder as yyyy-mm-dd so I have to rename every folder, then every folder is stored in a folder named yyyy-mm which in turn is stored in a folder named yyyy which is stored on an external hardrive.

The K10D did this too, by the way.
