I miss her already!

She is my M 400 f/5.6 and she has gone to the lens hospital in Calgary to get her foot operated on. It won't tighten up and hold her in the right position any more. Others may have noted that her aperture is getting a bit sluggish under certain conditions as well.

We are taking the trailer out to Dinosaur Provincial Park, near Brooks, Alberta for a few days, followed by a few days at Drumheller, home of the Royal Tyrell Museum where the bones dug up at Dinosaur are studied and/or assembled. The hoodoos are full of wildlife with wings, and my bird lady is away. Sob! But I had to do it. We are leaving the second week in August for a trek through a whole bunch of parks, including Elk Island National Park where one of two very small remaining wood bison herds are to be found. She'll like them. She won't even need the rear converters, I think.

Sorry to dump on you all, but I am sure you understand. How can I part with her for even a few weeks while she gets better. Even worse, the osprey fledgling by the highway is exercising his/her wings and will probably have flown for the first time before we get back, let alone when she gets back to me.
