Some "suckers" will go for it. For anything you put for sale, there will be somebody showing interest. Sad, but true.

I don't think that is Ben's photo.

Come to think of it, I don't think I have ever seen his work that was not a portrait. I don't think I have ever seen him post up a shot of an object.

I can see how that'd happen with the whole "limited release' stuff going on with sneakers. I find th whole sneakerhead fad a bit too much though, kind of funny as well. I heard a friend bought one of those limited release sneakers not in his size hoping he'd be able to trade them later on for some in his size with someone who did the same as he did.

I especially like his description of "vintage.....2008". I'll bet a 2007 ad must be a genuine antique. Of course Pentax seems to advertise so little that this ad may actually be collectable.

well, it may seem a little insane, but it's really just an extension of a pretty common practice - a friend of mine sells adverts from old plays (circa 1960) on eBay - usually gets more than $10 for an original advert.

2008 is a bit recent, but in this day and age, how many here would be able to put their hands on the advert for the very camera they own? I sure couldn't (although abject poverty causing lack of magazine purchases for the last few years probably has more to do with this...)
