I have a friend going over to the other side of the pond in a months time, more specifically to the Edmonton area in Canada. I have already ordered him to get me a D-FA 100/2.8 macro, but he's considering getting himself a K10D or K100D, as he's currently borrowing my *ist DL and some "leftover" lenses.
So, where is the cheapest/best place in Edmonton to get a K10D kit and a D-FA 100 macro?
It isn't really a camera shop, but get your friend to check out London Drugs. It's a fair sized chain in Western Canada, that sells Pentax and can often (but not always) save you a bundle.
McBain will match prices from the other two. I know they carry the DFA 100. I have never seen one at London Drugs, and I don't shop Don's Photo enough to know if they stock it, although they seem to favour Sigma lenses from what I have seen in the store.
If you want to ensure that you get a DFA 100, I would suggest that you email Dons and McBain in advance of your friends trip, and get them to hold one, or order one in for you, so that it is here when your friend arrives.
Also, there are a number of Edmonton area users on this forum (at least 5), so have your friend post on the forum when he is in town, perhaps he can meet a few 'Pentaxians' while he is here.

As most everyone else has said, McBains is probably the best choice. They will price match and they also have a reasonable selection of Pentax gear in stock. The main store is the best place to shop (107th Ave & 109th Street).
Your friend might also luck into a good deal on the K100D or K10D at London Drugs. They don't usually keep much in stock though; when I bought my K10D & D16-45/4, the camera was one of two they had in stock in the city and it was the last lens to be had.
