[EXPIRED] Pentax F 100-300mm, Contax TVS

I've reduced the prices (in Canadian dollars). I will ebay these off if they don't sell soon, but want to give forum members a final chance. I'll also consider partial trades for macro and flash related accessories

I've been on a bit of a shopping spree lately so need to clear out the cupboard! I'll try and post some pictures tomorrow (or can send some via PM) but for now here are the details. I'm based in Ontario, Canada. I will sell worldwide if demand dictates.

Pentax F 100-300mm zoom lens. f4.5-5.6. I believe this to be a very good example of this lens. In good light, stopped down a bit, I've had some really sharp results (for a consumer lens). The optics are clean with no marks or fungus. The overall condition of the lens I would describe as 'Excellent', the only sign of wear being a very small amount of paint chipped off where the lens cap attaches. It has original Pentax caps, but no case or box. I bought it second hand from London Camera Exchange in the UK 2 years ago and it has seen light use since then (mostly wildlife shots on holiday).

$130 plus postage

Not Pentax, but a superb film compact for any film enthusiasts still out there.
Contax TVS 35mm compact camera with zoom lens. This is a legendary camera (mostly due to the carl zeiss lens) which takes superb photos (much better than any digital compacts I've used), but I am simply very lazy at getting film processed. Would suit a B&W film enthusiast or someone wanting a classic compact camera. Not really in collectors condition (was bought used, so I would not call it 'mint'), but it does include a lot of extras. Camera is in excellent condition with no obvious marks except on the (rather pointless these days) panorama switch.

Unusually for a film compact you get exposure compensation, manual zooming (good as it doesn't require batteries) and you can even manually focus by specifying a distance. It also takes filters (30.5mm).
More information at Introduction and Contents - Contax 35mm Collection

Included with camera:-
-Original Contax presentation box
-Original manual and a second photocopied manual
-Contax UV filter (metal and multicoated)
-Contax metal lens hood and original box
-a set of tamron 30.5mm filters:-1xred, 1xorange, 2xyellow, 1xND2, 2xND4; useful for black and white photography
-two corded lanyard straps (original but not very good to be honest)
-small neoprene strap I added myself (much better)
-original velour and leather trim soft case (shows signs of wear)

I paid 210 UK pounds for this from Ffordes last August. It has had 3 rolls of film through it since then.

$250. KEH is selling one with a bleeding LCD and none of the extras for US$225, so I think this is a fair price but will negotiate.

photos of lens

Hopefully this will work

There is a very small amount of dirt on the lens barrel. This is not damage, just a bit of dirt I really should have cleaned off before taking the photo. Hopefully you can see the lens elements are clean though!

another picture

This picture hopefully shows the area where paint has rubbed off the barrel.

And finally...

Some pictures of the Contax...

This is a lovely camera, which deserves a more appreciative home!

Oh and for a bit of fun...

Here's one of my favourite pictures from the zoom lens...(cropped slightly)

It makes a great print. I've not really mastered optimising photos for the web yet (as you can probably tell) and having a non-calibrated laptop monitor probably doesn't help...my current editing process seems to involve mucking around until it comes out the printer correctly; not very scientific!

Anyway, hope it gives some idea of how much fun I've had with this lens. I'm only selling it as I have an M*300 on the way from another forum member.
