I thought I'd seen that little window cover on the pentax web store, but now I can only find the hood $64 yikes... I can see why you're asking here. Out of curiosity, does anyone know if those little covers are the same size for every hood?

Heliphoto, that is exactly what I had hoped but sadly it seems like I have to get a new hood :-(

Well, you only need a new hood for asthetic reasons... otherwise duct tape is your friend . I think even when selling this lens, most people wouldn't care about the missing piece that much - not $64 hit to the lens value in my book...

Good luck finding a used one. Also it wouldn't hurt to contact pentax, and see if it's something they could help you out with. I would guess they go missing a lot.

I did and this is what they said

Thank you for contacting Pentax.

Pentax does not sell the cap separately. I'm afraid you would have to purchase the hood to get the replacement cap.

I just stumbled on the fact that B&H has the hood replacement for $45 if you're still looking.

I would be interested in buying your hood & taping over the gap myself, better than the lost hood I have
