Here is one I've been playing with from Mount Mitchell, North Carolina. At 6,684', this is the highest point in North America east of the Mississippi River. This rock & trees are just feet below the summit making them the highest trees on the east coast. Wonderful foggy day to boot! :)

The overall mood and lighting reminded me a lot of work done by Jerry Uelsman, a photographer and graphic artist/darkroom wizard whom I greatly admire. So I decided to see what I could do with it. The nude figure is from a studio session I attended last year and the model's name is Jackie (Echoe).

Naturally, it's not up to par with Jerry's work but I'm fairly happy with the result. :)

I think this picture has a cool dreamy quality, but I'm looking for input on what I could do to take a better picture next time. I had just a second to take the picture, so I just used whatever setting was on the camera (I wouldn't use F5 next time). In a way, the blown out sun is cool. I used a Neutral Gradient Filter effect on this in post processing and set white balance to shade to give some warmth. Is there anything I could do in post processing to improve this picture?

I told you that I would eventually start posting the pictures from our six month trip to the Pacific Northwest! Now you will just have to suffer through my posting them.
We had tons of this kind of foggy, damp weather on the Pacific Coast almost the whole time we were there. I really wasn't sure how to compensate for the lack of contrast so any tips, tricks, comments, etc. would really be appreciated.

Please, rip my pictures of these birds to shreds. Give me as much constructive criticism as you're able to. I'm just getting into the world of birding/telephoto nature photography, and I want to make them as good as possible. Tell me what I'm doing right, wrong, and what could be improved.

I don't consider any of these to be perfect even by my noobish standards, either. For example, all these pictures were taken between ISO 800 and 1600 on an overcast day, so there's going to be noise/smearing that I wish I could've avoided.

Thanks in advance!

I've been kicking around some PP programs and wanted to get a perspective. This was a bit flat but I was able to kick it up a bit in Corel Photopaint. It has an auto-correct of sorts and it adjusted the photo automatically for brightness, color and intensity. Let me know if it is over-done? I'm new so this looks "just great" to me!
I shot in 1600-3200 iso, f 5.6, and anywhere from 1/120 to 1/350. Lighting was terrible imo, and I still don't know what I am really doing. No pp. Any advice would be great. Thanks.
