Will my 645 lenses (A&FA) work properly on the new digital 645? If so, I will start buying more, they are such fine quality lenses, I often just hold them and appreciate the craftsmanship.
I know that the 645 and 645N don't have a mirror lock up function, but I was looking for a way around this. Or do I need to go to a 645NII to achieve any kind of mirror lock up?

Does anyone have this lens? I don't have my adapter yet, or a 645 so I cannot test it. I bought it from Adorama (E-) for $179.00!!!

My question is this: On my lens, which appears to be in very nice condition (aside from some dust), the lens barrel around the part that extends rotates. Is this normal? Also, what is the purpose of exposed rubber ring that can be rotated. There is an opening in the barrel where you can see it.

I appreciate your help. I cannot wait to get my adapter. It is on backorder right now from BH Photo/Video. I am assuming since Pentax shows it for sale on their site I should be able to get it eventually. :(

I recently acquired a 645N, and SMCP-FA 645 75/2.8, SMCP-FA 645 45/2.8 and I have a SMCP-A 645 35/3.5 on the way. None of the lenses came with hoods. Finding original hoods for the FAs is difficult and I can't even find info on the original hood for the 35, if there was one. I'm thinking of trying out generic screw-on hoods that go on the filter threads, but was wondering if anyone out there has tried any, or if there might be another solution I've not thought of yet. The filter sizes of the lenses are 58mm, 67mm and 77mm, respectively. I'm sure there are some folks out there that have one or more of these lenses and have hoods for them. Any ideas on where to get the original hoods, or a good substitute? Please indicate manufacturer and source if possible. Thanks.

I came across A trusted name in photo processing for over 50 years - Dwayne's Photo and was wondering if anyone had used them or any other lab for having and slide or print film developed and scanned to CD. I cannot afford a film scanner so I was thinking maybe I could just pay for developing and a photo CD. Any advice would be appreciated.

I have a pentax67 with a pentaprism and a 90mm.
Lately, I've been noticing that it is really, really soft. I'm not sure if it all of a sudden got sof ton me or if it needs calibration, but it's just not performing well at all. here are a couple images from the last roll of 220 portra400nc through it that are ridiculously soft and fit what i'm trying to explain.

pardon the fairly sloppy/hardly colorbalanced scans.
in the first, the focus was supposed to be on the socks. the second, on the part of the sidewalk where that guy is. and the third, right on the street sign.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...aturday005.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...aturday006.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...aturday018.jpg

on top of this, i've noticed that the accuracy of the finder is HORRIBLY inaccurate and what i see through the prism is about a centimeter if not more less than what is on the negative. my prism sits on almost loosely and if you press it hard enough it will wobble. maybe that has something to do with it, maybe not, but im really getting sick of things creeping into my images when trying to shoot landscapes or really ANYTHING that i want to have a decently clean composition. Any idea where this is coming from, or is every 67 this horribly inaccurate? and if you look at the second image, the left side of the frame was supposed to cut at maybe the "a" or closer in on that big "sign" but its all the way outside of that as it shows.

also, im using an epson 4490 refurb, but i've switched scanners and im still getting the same problem.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Kohlton

Hello, I'm trying to determine the cause of a plus density soft line on my Neopan 400 negs, 1mm wide, running top to bottom of the film frame held horizontally, and always 1/4 of the way in from the left of the image as the film is situated in the camera, i.e with the image upside down.

It occurs randomly per frame, yet always in the same location. Therefore I think I can rule out light leak. I also don't see how it could be processing agitation error either, stainless steel reels, because it always occurs in the same spot frame to frame, sometimes four in a row.

This leaves me to wonder if the focal plane shutter may have something to do with it , and my question is 1.) what direction does this run? 2.) has anyone seen this occur? 3.) could an older camera have this slight hesitation ( bump) in the movement of the focal plane shutter?

Thank You for any thoughts you might have on this.
Any thoughts?

I have been developing my on black and white Tmax 100 and 400 films and am feeling pretty confident in my abilities to develop film.
Can anyone dissuade me and tell me how their copy of this giant is soft in the corners and center, renders relatively flat negatives, handles poorly or other really bad traits. If you have good things to say, please by all means share those too...

Last weekend I went ahead and ordered a 645n and 200mm f/4 645 lens from KEH and they just arrived today. Wow these are in great shape for the price. I can't wait to get out tomorrow with it and run a couple of rolls of black and white film through it. So I guess I will be having a 645 body for sale pretty soon with a 120 or 220 back. I am thinking I might keep the 75mm f/2 lens that came with it though.
i also dont like Kodak 400TX, in fact i dont like any Kodak b/w film :(

i'm going to try Ektar 100 next...

but my first overall impressions are mixed, rather bulky compared to a 35mm camera, also i have to resort to a flatbed scanner for these as a dedicated MF film scanner is out of my budget for now..
