Suggestions for Daypack for K10D

I currently own a Lowepro Slingshot 200 which I absolutely love. Its a great pack for carrying and storing my gear for when I go out shooting. However, Im looking to get a backpack that is about the same size as the Slingshot 200 but is divided into 2 sections, one traditionally padded section to store my camera and a second section that shaped like traditional backpack, for storing a jacket, or snacks, etc. I just need something for simple day trips that arent going to require a vast amount of photo gear, but will allow me to SAFELY take my K10D for better photos than I can get with a P&S.

Im currently looking at either a Lowepro Orion Trekker II, or a Tamrac Adventure 7. Does anyone have any experience with either of these bags, or any other bag of a similar nature around $50-60?

Only bag I ever sold and regretted it afterward was my Orion Trekker (original). It is a great bag if you can:

A. Contain the urge to carry more lenses, filters, cameras...........

B. Don't need to have rapid access to the other items.

I have considered getting another one but the when/where/how of my photography have changed.

Have a look at the Lowepro fastpack series - 2 compartments- 2 shoulder straps - varying sizes. Similar sling fashion, after you take one strap off, to the slingshot. I like mine.

The reasons above are exactly why I have, and love my Slingshot 200. Im just looking for a bag that looks more like a daypack, but allows me to take 1 camera body with zoom lens attached, maybe one compact prime, and a flash safely to day events like street festivals, art-in-the-park type exhibits, etc, yet still allows me to have room to store snacks, maybe a waterbottle, etc.

Ill give a look to the fastpack series too. Tough decision so far...

I don't know if they still show up on ebay, but Beseler made a couple of nice daypacks. I still have one (B920?) because I can fit an RB67 and a windbreaker in the top and all the extras in the bottom.

In theory I'm actually quite enamored of the LowePro Flipside series, because of its slim profile design (prevents snagging on trees and brush), center-line tripod strap, and rather more modern look. I think it might serve well for your purposes... it even has a mesh side pocket for a water bottle.

The separation is a little less defined than you might like (limited to a 'removable accessory pouch'), but I think a jacket would loop nicely into the carry strap or tripod strap, and snacks could just get packed into the webbing or 'accessory pouch'. I believe it also has "sliplock" attachments, so you can add little extra pockets on it.

It has a leg up on the Fastpack for safety, in my opinion, because of the rear panel access. This probably comes at a corresponding cost to convenience, though.

I was actually looking for something more like a hiking daypack, so I may have to resort to improvising a camera storage system in an REI Flash or Jet UL. Although... up till now my daypack has been a cross-chest gym bag, so the flipside would probably be an improvement
