a camera bag for k10d and 3 lenses ?

I'm looking for a bigger camera bag. Something good and solid (I'm going to buy it used )
In the bag I will have
1) k10d
2) DA 14MM
3) DA 40mm Limited (I don't have it yet )
4) DA telephoto something might be 50-300mm
5) extra battery, external flash
6) some small stuff

thank you.

P.S. what is the price range for a good bag or bag pack?

a simple question first.

do you intend to use this pack to carry your kit from home to a destination spot only, or do you intend to carry all of this with you all the time while you are out and about town somewhere away from home.

The reason I ask, is that I have a 3 lens 1 body "minimalist" kit that I sometimes take with me.

The kit is carried in my breifcase to my destination, but the small bag only holds 2 lenses plus batteries & memory.

I don't need to hold the third lens or camera body when I am touring because it is in my hand.

I've got several right now and none of them really fit my needs. But my favorite for every day use is a Tenba bag I picked up a few months ago. It's the best quality shoulder bag I've ever seen.

I'm going to carry camera around in a bag, so I can take the camera out - take few pictures, change a lens etc...

It will be used on my vacation and during hiking.

How about a LowePro Slingshot 200 - will fit a camera with large mounted lens (such as K20d w/ DA 60-250), and has four other compartments for lenses/flash/etc. There is one separate pouch for filter wallet, rocket blower, food, batteries. Also, it has a pull-over rain cover to protect the bag.

I toted it fully loaded tromping throughout Spain for 10 days and really liked it. It was pretty easy to swing it around your body, open the main compartment, take out camera and lens, fire a few shots, stow and go.

I think the LowePro is something like $75 USD new.

I don't like the slingshot, it was uncomfortable to me. But we all have different experiences. Best bet would be to try out the bags yourself

I'll third the Slingshot 200. Be warned that it's very easy to load up the bag with lots of gear that will make it heavy. I carry a K100DS, 55-300, Sigma 10-20, M50 f/2, and wireless triggers in the main compartment. Misc accessories in the top pocket, and pens and small tools in the middle pocket. Add a monopod on the side and it's about 10-15 pounds.

Depending on your height, it may slide down and rest on the top of your hips.

Tamrac System 6 or System 8, perhaps.

Amazon.com: Tamrac 5606 System 6 Camera Bag (Black)*: Camera & Photo

I have a System 8 on the way to replace my biggest Quantaray bag which is starting to wear out and is a tad too large. Not fond of backpack style, or Lowepro designs.

I've been using the LowePro Fastpack 250 for a few months now and I really like it.

It holds;
-k10 w/ grip
-300mm f4 SMC Takumar (attached)
-18-55mm kit lens
-55mm f1.8 Super-Tak
-SB26 w/SC17 cable
-2x teleconverter A
-extra sd cards
-lens cloth, brush, fluid
-hotshoe level
-P&S camera
-extra batteries for strobe and p&s
-gps unit
-pocket spotting scope
-owl call
-rain coat
-softbox and scoop for sb26
-reflector card
-1st aid kit
-flashlight
-folding stool
-monopod
-pocket tripod
-camp towel
-dog collar
-dog biscuits
-1qt H2O
-lunch

It's quite a load but I'm getting more comfortable with every outing. This keeps me happy for a while in the woods.

It will also hold a laptop, but then it's too heavy. I stuff the softbox, scoop, and reflector where you would put a laptop.

I considered a kata pack similar to this but this was $100 less at around $90.

While I am at it...

Some other newcomers and those in midst of camera bag research and just starting the camera bag obsessions may find some interest in a thread like this as well.

You should also look at the Kata 3N1-20 or 3N1-30 bags as well. Although I don't own it, I have used it for a day of "hiking" and after walking for a few minutes, realized it was very uncomfortable for the single strap slingshot position all day and it was a great option to be able to wear it as a back pack. The only problem I had with the 3N1-30 was that it was kind of big on me, noticeably larger than my school bag anyways, so that it looked awkward with me carrying it. HOWEVER, you can now get the 3n1-20 and 3n1-30 for about $75 and $100 (respectively) with a $25 on DPS bags over $100 (which both camera bags fit into that category). IMHO, it is a very comfortable bag, built a THOUSAND times better (thicker, high quality materials) than my $20 5 year old Jansport, and customizable with the myriad of pockets (not to mention the D-rings which I used in combination with some metal rope combined a tripod).

Hope this helped!
