I have just finished my latest article, The Perfect Camera Bag? In summary, yes, I think the Kata DR-467 is the best backpack/rucksack for those needing to transport the most they can while staying under short-haul flight carry-on luggage restrictions. Two bodies, five lenses, a rain jacket, laptop and all your accessories can easily be accommodated (though very big lenses are another matter). Please have a read for all the details and many pictures illustrating the features.

great review!
I've been looking for something to bring with me during business travel that'll hold my laptop along with k200d, 16-45, 55-300, + some of my primes.
Can one reconfigure the bag to remove the camera insert?
I'm also contemplating a messenger type bag - similar to the timbuk2 hacker with a camera insert inside - I believe I saw someone post where they used a timbuk2 messenger bag with a camera insert, except I kinda like the slimmer profile of the vertical messenger bag.

Yes! It is stuck in with yellow (of course) Velcro. I imagine that if you had some other inserts you could reconfigure the interior, but I have not tried this.
I owned this bag for a while and sold it due to a couple reasons. #1 was the shoulder straps dug into my shoulders and it hurt to carry it even with a winter jacket on (a Wisconsin winter jacket ). I'm tall and skinny, so other body types might not be affected.
#2 was the 50% camera/50% personal gear design. Just not for me.
Otherwise, the bag was great. Well-designed and thought out, immense attention to detail. Interior fabrics are extremely high quality and soft.

That's what I'm doing next if/when I can ever sell my big-ish Lowepro. Probably going with the Small size Classic Messenger with the Tenba insert. I've had 3 backpacks and one sling, so it's time to try a messenger Here's a pic gallery of how it looks with a Medium bag.
