Don't know if this has been posted here, but I found this deal on one of the Canon forums and figured I'd share it with my Pentax buddies.
My bag arrived yesterday and I am very pleased with the build and material quality of this bag. I ordered the tan/green one and I'm about to order a black one as soon as I finish this post.
Canadian seller that allows you to pay using Paypal. This is probably the best $25 I've spent this year. Shipping is a flat rate of $9.99 for both the US and Canada.
I want to see what the inside looks like, for sure. Last week, I got a laptop messenger bag from Target for less than $5 but it's very nylon-feeling. Add in the camera insert, and that's another $25 (shipped).
Not bad at all. I don't have a Crumpler to compare it to, but from what I gather this bag is very close in quality. Not identical, but very close. I don't think they use the exact materials, but it's definitwly not garbage and well worth the $25 IMO.
those colours are really nice. if they were just a bit more muted (particularly the green) I would want it. but the green is just a bit loud for my taste. of course, I rarely ever carry a bag anyhow...
These are a nice find!
I myself am looking at times for a messenger type bag when I don't need to carry everything (equipment) that I've got so far.
I have a large bag that fits almost all my equipment, a holster, that only carries the body with lens attached, and this would be perfect for just about 3 lenses and a body if the description is right.
Great! I'm kinda liking the green too!
I wish they had photos of the bag on their site much like the photos that maxwell1295 shared.
It would sell better if there where different views of the bag.
For those who would buy a different color, it would be nice if you guys could post different views of it.
I ordered a black one today. I loved my Crumpler 4mdh (was stolen) and just can't see spending the money to replace it. I hope it arrives by Thursday. If so, and if it's big enough, I may take it to PDN PhotoPlus Expo in NYC Fri and give it a thorough workout.
I bought one of these bags today in the same colour scheme as the one Maxwell posted (brown with green interior) at the Brampton retail store. The construction quality is quite good overall; the interior fabric is nice and soft and the stitching is much higher quality than I expected.
The padding isn't quite as thick as my Lowepro bags but it's still decent. I may add an extra layer of padding to the bottom but the interior dividers are fine. For those concerned about colours the green interior isn't as bright as some of the pictures make it look and with the flap down the bag looks quite plain (a selling feature for me, I don't like having any logos on my camera bag).
The black bag has a nice shade of tan on the inside but I didn't take a look at the inside of the red bag. The manufacturer's name doesn't appear anywhere on the bag or the sales tags but this appears to be their product page: VersaBag - Fidelity Electronics Inc.
I'm still trying out different configurations but it looks like 4 large zooms (probably as big as an 80-200 f/2.8, but my largest lens is a 70-210 f/3.5 that has lots of extra space), one medium zoom, and a body with a medium lens and a battery grip on it will fit in the main compartment.
If you're in the market for a bag this size I'd say go for it, I paid 3 times as much (80-something compared to $27) for my Slingshot 200.
