SFDealer, Tim, that is good news. The more people the merrier.
Tim, I think that going to the place sooner is a good idea. I went last weekend near sunset times and the conditions for photography were awful. It was cloudy and the amount of light were not enough for decent shutter speeds even at f2.8. Going earlier will make some shooting easier. A tripod will help. I hope the weather is better on the D-day. I didnt see too many crabs this time but I saw plenty of anemones and starfish and the resident harbor seals were there too.
If the weather is cloudy, with a tripod an a ND filter we can still have some nice seascape shooting.
One word of caution for those not familiar with tide pools, they can be really slippery, bring some nice shoes and be really carefull when we get there.
Well said Corporal, I think that we could meet at 5PM on Peeble Beach at Bean Hollow State Park. If my memory doesnt fail there was a Parking lot there. Anyhow, we can park almost everywhere next to the road. Here is a link that I hope it works peeble beach bean stat - Google Maps
Just to be sure, in looking at the maps, Peeble Beach is one of the beaches at Bean Hollow and is to the north of Bean Hollow Beach, right?
Tim
As the weather officer (aka black cloud), the forecast currently is for mostly sunny weather with highs in the mid 60's. Given all the fog that we will be having between now and then, I'm doubtful of this forecast but we might just hit it right for once too.
Tim, you are correct the beach should be north (closer to Halfmoon bay). If you drive and pass Pigeon point Lighthouse you have gone too far. The beach has indications and it should be south to Pescadero State beach.
As the official weather officer we rely on your prediction and we are praying for good weather...Sir!
Weather still looking good. The forecast is for fog until about 11am, mostly clear for the evening. I'm thinking that means that the fog will receed offshore but still be around to affect sunset but you never know. I'll keep watching it.

Good job Tim...Sir!. I hope that there is no fog. In case of fog, I hope it is not too dense. My arsenal of photo-creativity is quite limited for thick fogs Let keeps the finger crossed.
Think we are going to be ok. So, the strike forecast from the NWS is as follows:
Labor Day: Patchy fog before 11am. Otherwise, cloudy through mid morning, then gradual clearing, with a high near 62. North northwest wind between 8 and 13 mph.
Monday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 53. Northwest wind between 8 and 16 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph.
So...we might get a sunset in but it'll be on the breezy side.
Hey guys. I will be leaving the computer soon so I just wanted to confirm the schedule. I will be at Peeble Beach on Bean Hollow State Beach at 5PM. I will be the person with the big camera Hope to see you soon.
Well, thanks to Gruoso, SFDealer & Luna the wonder dog, Damn Brit, (the whole army) for showing up at our beach assult. Sharon, Amanda (thepandaknows), Chris, and all enjoyed meeting you. Pictures will be forthcoming no doubt.
Tim
Or put another way, outstanding job private!
Future meet up notes - Gary mentioned to me towards the end that we might consider a meet up in the North Bay. Marin headlands, Pt. Reyes, etc. or a possible meet up in St. Helena in October to shoot...er...drink gapes and shoot wine or something like that. Thoughts?
