Smile. FotoWeek DC is back... and it's going to be even bigger and better this year, filled with powerful international exhibitions, thought provoking lectures, and, of course, the chance to have your own portfolio critiqued by experts. In short, FotoWeek DC - a non-profit organization - has planned a total photographic immersion, featuring the latest in documentary, fine art, and every genre of photography - and feel free to overindulge, because most of these events are free.
The date is November 7th - 14th and the place is all around the city, from our nation's prestigious museums and institutions to embassies, cutting edge galleries, and even public schools. So browse on to find out more about our schedule -- and start planning yours.
the website is not complete yet and several things seem to be a little disorganized but it looks like there should be some neat stuff going on.
I have to admit I don't really understand this event. It's a number of exhibits and workshops but scattered all over the place, even Alexandria. This makes for rather difficult planning. I like to go to one place and have all the neato stuff there to enjoy and the enjoy the energy of all the other photography people gathered in one place.
Oh I dunno. I had so much fun geeking it up in that big building called the Javits Center with other like-minded photo geeks like myself. I guess I just wanted to go downtown and hang out with other photogeeks, and not plan to go here, go there, hoping there'd be a party lol.
It makes it hard to just drop by and see what's going on. Cuz there's no where to just drop by.
Well, I missed the boat for the critique thing and I guess the question is whether it would be ga-ga distraction and depressingly over my head or whether I might really learn something. I sure wouldn't want to come away convinced I needed to buy more equipment
I registered but I'm not exactly sure what I registered for. I will probably venture in on a Tuesday or Thursday. I'm pretty sure I have stuff going on Saturday and Sunday I work
