Spring/Summer East-Coast Gathering

I was actually thinking of going to the festival in DC myself, but the Blue Ridge is a bit closer to me... I think.

I will definitely be going to the DC Cherry Blossom festival. However the cherry blossoms aren't what brings me there but the Kite festival instead. I was there last year and had a blast of a time. And shot lots and lots and lots of photos. Not sure I'd be able to get away during the summer, for ME or Blue Ridge Mtns or any other location.

tempted....but depends on the date. traveling a lot for work, so hard to commit.

ok, so far it looks like we may have 6-7 people that could attend.
Lets narrow down a date.
I am thinking one of the last 2 weekends in June.

I would also be interested, but not sure I can stay for the 2 days. I have a "kitchen pass" for at least 1 day. I'm in Gainesville, about 35 miles west of DC and about 30 miles east of Front Royal.

Ok, Update, It is looking like from the few so far that the last weekend in June is looking to be best, If you havent "voted" please do so (if you can actualy make it and are able to afford/travel etc) East Coast workshop Dates pol

I would love to get a few more before I start calling for price/discounts and hopefully we can set up something soon.

I am giving a high est. on price now (room rate $120/night, cost to enter park $15 I think, they keep raising it, its good for 7-days in-out, cost for "workshop" which is mainly for (custom t-shirt poss.) a BBQ and poss. a dinner at the lodge $75 rest of food you must provide) Must provide food: Lunch & Breakfast for 2 days

Rough Plans:
Friday: Arrival (all-day) Evening welcome-get together/BBQ
Sat. Morn Sunrise anyone?? Breakfast, Workshop 1, Lunch, Hike, Dinner, workshop 2 or Photo-review/slide-show??
Sunday Sunrise??? Breakfast, check-out, Workshop 2?? Hike? Lunch, Depart for home

Alan, That's the show at Langley right? I can't make that one but will be at the one at NAS Oceana in September.

Just a bit of along drive for a weekend (plus I'll be on night shift that weekend). Shame though I wish I could go...
