I agree with photo_mom and Mel -- this get together was a great time, but I just felt so...so...inadequate....as I was the only one there with a K100D. I was also only able to attend on Saturday, but it was terrific. Without a doubt, Brendan knows his stuff!! After seeing everyone's forum names, it was interesting to actually meet that individual. There were some great prizes including a couple of cool lensbabies. Also, there a lot of lens swapping going on. I'm not sure how everyone was able to ge their own stuff back. We even had a Canon shooter (yep, you read that right) attend (he was a friend of the son of a forum member). To his credit, he was cool about all the Canon "put downs", and he did shoot Pentax all day.
BTW, it looks like Mel has found a new career as a "fashion model" I'm sure Brendan will be posting pics.

The gathering drew to a close this morning. MRRiley and I were out early photographing the sunrise for the second day. Brendan was up much of the night making prints so was a bit bleary eyed. We helpd pack his car and went our separate ways. As mentioned above a great time was had by all. Photos to follow-

Um, yeah. We don't need to mention that.

What a great get-together. I hope everyone else had as good a time as Rosalie and I. It was sure nice meeting everyone and getting to put faces to the online personalities. And I agree... Mel has a promising modeling career ahead of her. Thanks for being such a good sport Mel! Film at 11...

Mrs. Workingdog and I had a great time this weekend. Thanks to Brendan for organizing the gathering and giving us all a chance to meet and greet, have fun, and make new friends. Thanks to all of the sponsors for the cool give away stuff.
The equipment swapping was like musical chairs but eveyone got their stuff back in the end. I really liked the 50-135 F2.8 but then the 16-50 was nice too and because of the strobe workshop I'm seeing what flash can really do for daylight shooting.
I'm home safe, I went down south about another 40-50mi on the drive today because I hadn't been to many parts on the drive for so long. There were some nice spots, but I think the northern sections we did had better stuff and much more wildlife.
I must say that the group must have good luck, I have never seen that many beer there in one weekend/trip and I have gone down the mountains at least 25+ times.
It was all fun, I must say the group of you that came out was so great, friendly and willing to do anything; I say next time the "model" gets to do a water-falls shoot so that hair is a little more under control.
I will post a link for gallery after I talk with Adam so were all in the same spot.
Thanks again to our Sponsors! Crumpler, Lexjet, Lensbaby, Trek-Tech, Lexar, Epson, LowePro, Pentax Fourms, P3 Imaging Inc.
With out you the workshop/gathering would have been much less fun and fulfilling.
Here's to the Second Annual Gathering in 2009! May the planning begin... Wed... after I wakeup.

Everyone please post in this gallery your pics from the gathering. Also if you have one or 2 that you can link to this thread that would be great too.
thanks all

I personally think Brendan should issue to all of us an 8x10 autographed glossy.
When I clicked on the photo gallery he set up all I got was "not available." Has anyone posted there yet?
Oh wait. I see. It says that because it's empty. Will this get any traffic? Personally I'd rather do a thread with the possiblity of embedding the shots as many of mine are uploaded/uploading to my flickr page. It's a long process with my connection. I'd hate to upload twice.

Embedding photos from another account is fine. I do hope you can repost atleast one or 2 in the gathering gallery though. It gives a place to reffrence quickly w/out other comments between pics so our sponsors can see it.
thanks

I think I agree with this. While a local gallery is nice it can be somewhat limited due to current disk-space allotments. And as people clear off photos down the road to make room for new photos the gallery will degrade. Perhaps better to just post links here in the thread to our own galleries or image archives.
