thanks for everyone for coming out. was great to meet the people behind the usernames and to discuss Pentax gear and shooting. i had more fun talking with everyone else than taking photos and (i started getting careless - a lot of the people photos didn't turn out well), although trying everyone else's lenses was really fun. looking forward to the next event,

It was good to meet everyone... Spent more time messing with lenses than concentrating on taking photos properly.

A few pics for now.

Here's K100D's FA31. Pretty sure this will be my next lens. This is from a ways back and cropped in, even cropped in and at ISO 800, still very sharp.

with Tamron SP 90 Macro - makes a good portrait lens as well. I wasn't paying attention, I think this was the first lady mannequin in space.

My old M100 f2.8 still working

A pleasure to meet everyone today, some very nice Pentax users in the GTA that's for sure. As Augustmoon mentioned, we spent a lot of time swapping gear rather than working on composing photos but there you go.

Maybe next time we’ll meet up somewhere with a bar nearby so we can finish with a brewskie. K100D KILLED me with the 31 and 77, the 77 in particular just knocked me off my feet. Severely impressed.

Anyway, images below, apologies for the lack of DOF but light was low and well you kinda try new glass wide open don’t ya

TORONTO Pentaxians gather at the Aerospace Museum

Hello everyone:

Great close-ups!

Here is a copy of the post for DPR, with some overall views...

Ten enthusiastic Pentaxians gathered today at the Toronto Aerospace Museum, in Downsview Park.

Everyone had a great time, comparing lenses and checking out the displays… from the Tiger Moth and the Lancaster to the replica of the AVRO Arrow, the photo opportunities were abundant… here’s a quick tour of the venue – EXIF data follows images.

It was an excellent opportunity to meet the people behind the posts!

Norm.

Unhappy Just saw this thread...

Haven't been on the site in a few days and just saw this thread. Too bad - I missed the 2nd Toronto get together... hopefully I'll see the information for the next one! Great to see that 10 Toronto area Pentaxians got out to meet, exchange information and take pictures. Looking forward to news of the next gathering.

Is there anyway to have the announcement re: Gatherings in a more visible place or to have a blanket email go out to potential participants?

Mike

I wish I had stayed another week. Looks like it was a great meet up. As for a list, sign your name up to the social gropup and then there is one commoin place to get PM's sent to all who are interested. Go to the spot below
