i've never even heard of the Don Valley Brickworks :S
Apparently it has been renamed to evergreen brickworks by the conservation authority or something, but it is on the Davisville bus route (there's a shuttle from Broadview station but only on Saturdays, and it sounds like we're all free the 13th): EVERGREEN BRICK WORKS » Take the TTC to Evergreen Brick Works
i personally would be more inclined to be in an area with greater industrialization so i would vote for harborfront or distillery district before either of the park areas, unless they have some cool abandoned forts or something (ive never been to either)
So the Evergreen brickworks will be good too, Gooshin. unless they took it down already and become a farmer market? I've never been there so i don't know..

I originally heard about the Don Valley Brickworks in California. It was a popular location setting for films and model photoshoots. Looking at the new website (thanks for the link jamonation) it looks like they are transforming it into some type of new community center thing. It makes it sound like the old abandoned deteriorating buildings will be all gone or newly and greenly remodeled all by 2009. Don't know how much they've done already. The Farmer's Market will only be on Saturdays as will be the 28A bus and the free shuttle from Broadview.
So I think that the Distillery District or Quay/Harbourfront would have the best combo of things to shoot and places to meet up, etc..? Maybe with a slight preference for the Distillery District for me, but will happily be open to anyplace.
Norm over DPR also suggest Downsview Park and Canadian Aerospace Museum ( which is the same location)
"Great to see that we are organizing a Pentaxian get-together in the GTA.
As far as a vebnue is concerned, how about Downsview Park, where we can get private access to the Canadian Aerospace Museum, as well as the largest urban park in North America?
I was there this morning - the displays are fascinating - lots of interesting things to photograph, and the surrounding park area is filled with a virtually unlimited array of landscape and floral opportunities.
Accessible by TTC - the 101 bus that runs between the Downsview subway station and the museum stops right outside the door. There is plenty of free parking - it's one minute north of 401 via Allen Road to Sheppard, then west one minute to the park entrance.
2009 will be the 100th anniversary of flight in Canada - commemorating J.A. McCurdy's landmark adventure in his Silver Dart. What better excuse to sojourn under the wing of a full-scale replica of the AVRO Arrow!
Check the website for more info: Toronto Aerospace Museum - "
