Brings back memories. Spent about 17 years looking at the DVBW from my balcony at 77 Howard Street - see photo (stolen from Augustmoon's gallery)
As usual, wish I could join you but my thoughts will be with you.

It's been open and accessible at least since June when the Saturday Farmer's Markets started. No fences or gates anymore.
Sounds like the abandoned factory part has been demolished and in its place there is the Farmer's markets. For obvious liability issue, there is no way that the farmers market can co-exist with the abandoned factory.
Used to be very scary to break in (January 08) - which actually added in some excitement each time I went in.
Seems that it is worth the trip re the market and the park.
That's really interesting shots. I never made it there before this year, but I had heard it was a good location for still and video shoots with lots of decrepit buildings.
i found out not too long ago that my grandfather... isnt feeling too well, so i bought a ticket just yesterday, gonna go see him, so i'll be gone next week.
metastasis of the bones, like the last stages, even morphine doesnt help, last i heard he got injected with some radioactive stuff to pretty much permentatly kill off some of the nerves...
on the other hand he might get lucky and become a radioactive super hero!
Now that location has pretty well been nailed down, what do people have to say about meeting time and a rally point where we can find each other at the Brickworks?
Augustmoon pointed out that light will be better early in the day, so how does 9:30am sound? Transit supposedly runs every half hour from 7:30 to 2:30 to the Brickworks site.
From the Brickworks website it sounds like parking may be tight and if the lot is full people will have to take a shuttle from one of either the Davisville or Broadview subway stations (or potentially walk quite a distance).
Does anyone who has been there before have a suggestion for an easy to find landmark to meet at?
Sorry I can't make it, have to work weekends. Could be around after 4pm though when I'm done work, but that'll be after all the good stuff/light. Anyone considering an early morning walk might really like the approach from the west -- bottom of the hill on Mt. Pleasant (just north of Roxborough Street, south of Roxborough Drive) leads into the Valley and is a great walk, esp. facing into the morning sun from the east. From the north west, a trail from Mt. Pleasant Cemetery leads down the the brickworks:
