Remote Assistance on *istDL

hi everyone

I recently updated the firmware to version 1.03 for my *istDL. Is the remote assitance software available for this specific model? I try to use the software for the *istD but that one doesn't work too well. It try to save all images into raw mode and jumble up all the pictures.

My second question is what is the Pentax Photo Browser and how can i get it? I can only find the update online, am i suppose to purchase the software separately?

Remote Assistant doesn't support the istDL. If you want the functionally you'll have to use Linux and PK-Remote

To install PPL via the update you need to create a CD and label it S-SW55. The disk can have anything you want on it. The PPL 3.51 update will ask for the disk and once your S-SW55 disk is inserted, it will continue on with the install.

I had not noticed that Remote Assistant does not support istDL, only the classic istD like my wife has.

The istD R.A. works with some K100Ds like mine. PK5, if your camera basically takes photos with R.A. and only garbles the photos when saved you may be in luck. I found with my unsupported K100D if the camera is set to JPG and R.A. set to RAW (or vice versa) the saved photos are unreadable. Mine will work fine if I first set the camera to the desired RAW/JPG and then R.A. will be in the same mode.
