Shooting water splashes

I've got a k10d and no flash...
I want to shoot the classic water drops splashing in water. I soon found out that just the K10D wont work, and I dont have proper lights.
The big issue is not really getting great light. I'd be happy in just seeing the water drops and freezing them.
Thing is with the built in flash or mounted flash (I supposed) I can only go up to 1/180. I need much bigger speeds...
What do I need to do and what kit to get to make the shot?
I dont need fancy triggers for now, I'm just playing around.

The shutter speed of the camera won't matter if the flash is suppling all the light to expose the scene. To ensure this is the case, set up your picture in a dim room, and close to the camera. The flash will supply a quick, action freezing pulse of light in these circumstances.

It wasn't cheap, but codiac2600 did what you want in this post.

So you can shoot waterdrops with your K10D.

I shot water drops with my previous camera, k100D. Saying the K10D cannot is a bit impulsive :P
I looked at the links little-laker supplied, pretty much in line with what I did, almost.
It's hard though, takes some practice, enjoy.

I did get a capture or two, rubbish ones...
I stoped because it was obvious I wasnt getting frozen images...
Do I have to be lucky enough to get the water droplet at its maximum height where velocity reaches zero to get a good shot?
*Cuz with my luck that'll never happen ;(*

I want to increase shutter speed, how do I get flash light at higher than 1/180? Not with the on-board flash thats for sure.
This is my only issue. I love my K10D, I know it can do alot, more than what I have explored.

DOH!!!

My bad... I just realized, that as people said, if I cut all other light (or almost), litle or no other stuff will get engraved in 1/180 aside from what the flash iluminated.

Not great ones yet, but its getting there!
