Ok folks, what is this?

While cruising around different antique shops, I came across a Pentax ME model that was in mint condition, as well as a few other little goodies that came with it.



But what caught my eye, was this briefcase:


Which, when opened, looks like this:



So, I have a few guesses (ie- lens holder, and cable release holder), but if my guesses are right, well, then that's a large briefcase for those few items.

Any ideas?

Don't forget that Pentax is a major supplier to the medical industry. My guess is (particularly due to the rather businesslike, not flashy look to the case) that it's an errr shall we say roto-router case for humans. My wife works in a hospital and they have lots of Pentax stuff you never want to ever have near you.

Looks like an "endoscope" case. Medical, indeed.
I'm not sure whether it is for the upper part of the gastrointestinal system or for the lower part.
