LCD Zooming Ratio

When using the LCD to view images and zooming in with the rear dial, at what number/magnification (x?) is the image at 100% view?...like a 100% crop.
Does x4 - x4.8 sound about right?

I don't know how accurate it is, but I usually go to 5-6x on the K10. Beyond that it starts to distort.

I have my K100d set to start zooming at 8x. That's as close as I need to get to check for focus/motion blur, then I just "OK" out. Two buttons.

I don't know about 100% magnification, but on my K10D I usually zoom 4x to be sure it is suitable for web/small prints, 6x to be sure it is suitable for very large prints, 8x to wonder why 8x is even there since it seems to be far more than 100%.

I really just check roughly the composition and exposure on the LCD screen, as for focus you can't really tell until you have it up on the computer screen.

Most images when shot in raw will benefit from some degree of sharpening.

I assume all this discussion is about daytime photos. I use 8x to focus on a bright star at night, 8x is set as my default zoom. A star will look like a blob at 8x but I can still adjust the focus until it is the, "smallest blob!"
